5 ‘Useless’ Korean Gadgets You’ll Absolutely Want (An Insider’s Guide)

Hey! Taesung here.

Today, I brought some Korean items that are fun as hell… and useless as hell.

You know that feeling when friends are coming over, and you start worrying, “What are we gonna do? What do we talk about?”

Hyung is here to solve that for you. With one of these, your place will become the go-to spot for all your friends.

1. The Soju Dispenser

What is this? It’s a machine that automatically pours soju for you.

In Korea, we have a culture of pouring drinks for others when their glass is empty. This machine does it for you. It has a sensor, so you just put your glass under it.

Unfortunately, the Shin-chan version in my video is a super-rare limited edition. You can’t get it. lol.

But don’t worry. Hyung found a basic version that will still get the party started.

2. The Bungeo-ppang Maker

In Korea, as soon as winter hits, Bungeo-ppang (fish-shaped pastry) sells like crazy.

When I was running my guesthouse in Venice, I used to make this for my guests with the exact same kind of pan.

Man… it was a huge hit. These people begged me to sell them some to take with them. It was a pain in the ass. lol.

Hand one of these fresh-off-the-pan pastries to your friends when they come over. I’m not kidding, you’ll be a god to them that day.

3. The Beer Foam Maker

There used to be a wildly popular beer franchise in Korea that sold ‘cream beer.’ It was just draft beer, but they changed the name and served it with a super-soft head of foam, and it was ridiculously good.

But you don’t really have that in Europe. I went to so many bars in Venice, and it didn’t exist.

So I bought one of these for my guesthouse.

It was so popular that during the tourist off-season, I survived by selling foamy beers to my guests.

4. The Luxury Dalgona Kit

You all know Squid Game, right? lol.

Actually, Dalgona was just something I used to do as a kid for 100 won (about 10 cents) in front of my school.

When I had guests over for nightly beer parties, if the vibe ever got a little slow, I’d bring this out.

It’s an instant mood-changer, a new experience, and a “holy shit, this is the thing I saw” moment. It’s the ultimate cheat-item.

You just have to endure the hassle of melting sugar. In return, your friends will give you their love. lol.

5. The Smartphone Photo Printer

The essential experience when traveling in Korea: Insaeng Nekut (4-Cut Photos). You know why everyone’s obsessed with it? Because a ‘physical’ memory is important.

This device is a machine that instantly prints any photo from your phone with that same vibe.

Me? I’m a super-insa (insider) from Venice. I’ve never seen a machine like this in the West.

Get one of these and print out photos for your friends. You’ll become a super-insa, I guarantee it.

Final Word

What’s the point of life?

It’s about buying ridiculously useless things to have one more laugh.

Life is too boring if you only think about practicality. I hope you live a fun life. lol.
