Hey, Taesung here!
Today, we’re diving into the wild world of hangovers.
Back when I was running my guesthouse, we had beer parties every night.
Beer alone? No problem.
But mix in some wine, and you’re in for a rough morning.
Different countries have their own hangover cures, but Korea? We’re obsessed with it!
Let me show you how we do it.
Hangover Cure (Jelly Type): Before we even start drinking, we pop some hangover jelly.

Ever tried soju?
I usually down about 6 bottles (360ml each), and the next day, I’m skipping work because of the hangover.
If you’re gonna drink like there’s no tomorrow, you better prep for it.
Surprisingly, it works and tastes good too.
Hangover Cure (Pill Type): Same reason as the jelly.

We know we’re gonna feel like death the next day.
Why drink if you know you’ll suffer? Well, why drink if you won’t?
Pills are cheaper than jelly, so we just gulp them down.
Hangover Cure (Liquid Type): This one’s my go-to.

It’s like a magic potion.
People debate if it works, but even if it’s just a placebo, it’s crucial for whether I can drag myself to work the next day.
I usually start with the jelly, then take the pills and liquid together.
It’s not harmful, so why not? More is better, right?
Gukbap: This is a classic morning hangover meal.

There are tons of types, so everyone has their favorite.
I love bean sprout soup. When I ran the guesthouse, I’d serve it as ‘Korean hangover soup,’ and guests loved it.
Popular ones include pork, bean sprout, beef, and oyster gukbap.
Basically, if you put rice in soup, it’s gukbap.
Simple.
Ramen: In the morning, you’ll see people with red faces eating ramen at convenience stores.

It’s a popular hangover fix.
I didn’t serve it to guests because they found it too spicy.
After they left, I’d make some for myself.
Everyone knows Shin Ramyun, right?
But let me introduce you to Teumsae Ramen.
If you can’t handle spice, it’s a challenge.
But it’s a massive hit in Korea, so you know it’s delicious.
Don’t forget to add an egg!
If you’re planning a night of heavy drinking, just load up on all three hangover cures and have a bowl of gukbap the next day.
You’ll feel refreshed.
And if you top it off with a bottle of soju as a morning pick-me-up, you’ll start your day feeling fantastic.
PERHAPS…?
